Lounge Pants Workshop

Lounge Pantsmake a comfortable pair of lounge pants for those lazy days and chilly nights.

Cost: £35 (this includes the commercial pattern for you to keep after the workshop)

Details:

We will be using a commercial pattern to make a pair of lounge pants with pockets in the side seams.  

This workshop is suitable for those of you who can use a sewing machine and sew with some accuracy.

Payment and refund policy:

A £10 deposit is required to secure your place and is non-refundable should you wish to cancel. Please make the full payment by Saturday 25th September (one week before the workshop) and note that it is non-refundable after this time.  Failure to make full payment by this date will mean that your place is offered on.  You may transfer your booking to another person at any time before the workshop date.  In the unlikely event there are insufficient bookings for the workshop to be viable I will notify you by Thursday September 30th (2 days prior to the workshop) and refund all fees immediately.

  • Understanding pattern symbols and fabric terms
  • Understanding how to work with woven fabrics, including patterned fabrics
  • Pattern layout
  • Cutting out
  • Sewing plain seams and suitable ways to neaten the edges
  • Inserting pockets into a seam
  • Sewing an elasticated waistband
  • Sewing an elasticated waistband
  • Sewing hems
  • Using the iron for a professional finish

What to bring:

  • Fabric: Please choose a woven fabric.  Fabric requirements for each size are outlined on the pattern below (once you have booked your place, I can provide instructions about how to read the pattern information).  Please measure yourself (or the person you are making for) carefully as pattern sizes do not follow high street sizes!
  • Matching thread.
  • Sewing machine, if you have one. There will be some machines available, but it is good to become familiar with your own.
  • Sewing equipment, I will bring everything you need, but you might like to bring any basic sewing things that you have.
  • Coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided.  You may wish to bring some lunch.
